C.A.T. (C.A.T. II)

(Crimson Attack Tank)

Cobra Logo

The Crimson Attack Tank bears a remarkable resemblance to the MOBAT, employed by the United States and more notably G.I. Joe, and with very good reason. Both units were designed and constructed by the M.A.R.S. corporation. The Mobat being of earlier design and the C.A.T. correcting any flaws that were uncovered. When the Crimson Attack Tank was developed, it was the intention of Cobra Commander to use it more as a ceremonial piece, since he was aware that the U.S. had intimate knowledge of the tank and it's abilities. At that time the Crimson Guard were a small unit that consisted of two branches, Intelligence/Counter Intelligence and the Commanders personal guard. The C.A.T. became common place with the later and was used primarily in parades or as a deterrent for crowd control.

C.A.T.

It was only recently that the C.A.T.s true abilities have been put to use with the creation of the C.A.T. II. Many unsubstantiated rumors have circulated regarding the Crimson Guard and their recent influx of new recruits and a mechanized division, however it has been the "Cobra High Commands" stance that the Crimson Guard are simply filling a void within Cobra, forming a sort of Special Forces division. The C.A.T. II can be scene now on the front line, some in red and others in the original black.
