Detachment One, an elite 86-man unit in a league of its own alongside the Navy Seals, Army Green Berets and Rangers, and the Air Force's Special Operation Command. Hand picked by Pentagon officials and housed at the Camp Del Mar Boat Basin.

Being part of one of the most specialized units in the world was not what Striker had planned for himself growing up. Always at odds with the law and in and out of halfway homes throughout childhood. Striker grew up thinking that no one could change the world. Joining the Marines right out of High School seemed like the only way out of a bad situation. The First day of Boot, his drill Sergeant knew him by name, one of the least envied situations to be in during Boot Camp. Striker was drilled daily with “low crawls” and “thinking mans” until his knees and elbows were raw with scabs, the whole time the rest of his platoon watched in horror as he was punished repeatedly for nothing at all. No one in his Platoon thought anyone could last through such torments, but he did. By the fifth week Striker had earned the respect of his Drill Sergeants as being hard as nails and was appointed Platoon leader throughout the rest of his seven weeks in Boot Camp.

Striker Doss.

Once graduated Striker moved quickly through the ranks and realized that he had found his home in the Marine Corp. Four years in the amphibious Marine Expeditionary Units where he earned his “SOC" (special operations capable) qualification. He then went back to Paris Island and served for two years as a Drill Instructor. Striker was a shoe in for Detachment One.

Unfortunately after months of preparation, Detachment One was canned, due to budget cuts directed at military spending. Many Marines picked at that time to start the unit found themselves without a home and eager to move on to bigger and better things. That’s when operatives from the SHADOW team began to interview such prospects. The group was ultra hush and operating under the radar, looking to recruit from what was supposed to be America’s best of the best. After interviews and trials, Striker was accepted and only then told the reality of the situation that he would have to give up his name and his life in exchange for a new identity. His only life and family was the Corp. and so Striker was born.

SHADOW team has never officially existed nor were they ever officially connected to the United States government. The team specialized in Assassinations, Counter intelligence, wet works, and numerous black bag operations. Shadow’s contact was an agent named Chuckles. All other files pertaining to SHADOW and their operations have been sealed by the Department of Defense.

Strikers Jungle uniform. Striker was my jar head, had to have one, hard core Marine for Shadow Team. I know a lot of people don't like the "01 Leatherneck head sculpt, but I feel it's mainly because they just don't see it as the original Leatherneck. This did nothing but help me to create the character. If taken from an objective point of view, the head sculpt looks about as hard-ass Marine as you can get. The leatherneck figures vest worked great too and soon became a staple of Shadow Team's uniforms (As seen in their Covert Ops Uniform on the main page). In my opinion a lot of the '01 figures were very good and got the shaft from collectors for no reason. The paint apps make these some of the most realistic looking Joes ever made. Of course the painted flesh doesn't help. But I didn't need to do a single paint job on any of the figures in my Shadow Team jungle uniform set.
