The Iron Grenadiers are often called upon to create chaos and perform acts of sabotage, espionage and terror, in order to generate business for the M.A.R.S. Corporation. These acts often take place at offshore oil refiners, harbor side manufacturing plants or tankers out at sea and these are just the troops for the job. Undertows start out as Iron Grenadiers and from there, spend the next 16 months learning about explosives, marine geology, underwater hand-to-hand combat and survival. Their suits are made of a nontoxic, anticorrosive material. Their facemasks are coated with silicone to repel oil and are organically conditioned against hostile biological agents and infections.
The Undertow can thrive in the harshest of conditions and swim thru the murkiest of waters to obtain their objective. Once out of the water, the undertow can perform as well as any Iron Grenadier. They can infiltrate an objective, do their business and escape before anyone knows they were even there.
