"Words Left Unsaid"

I wanted to leave the reader with a definite sense that the Joes were understanding of Pitfall's situation while at the same tme duty bound to do their jobs but when I finished the talking scenes between Chuckles and Pitfall I felt that the coversation was at too much of a climax to bring it down a notch before the story switched to Wreckage and Tunnelrat's escape attempt.

In retrospect, I feel this scene is a great insight into Pitfall and his feelings of remorse over the loss of a friend, not to mention, his own pain from his past experience of being in a very similar situation as Wreckage only a few years back. I love the scene and I would have wanted it in the story if I was the reader, but I was trying to keep all the other Joe fans in mind and not let the story slow down too much.

This scene takes place right after Pitfall finishes his converstation with Chuckles at the R.O.C.C. and Lowlight follows him out.
