The Rally

What it takes to show the true Might of Cobra!

You never know true fear until you’ve spent seven hours balancing 600 troops to form a rally and then manage to photograph a Dio scene right in the middle of it all. The Set itself was initially built for the Airfield, but due to some commendable foresight I had built the airfield to be modular and for all of the pieces to be interchangeable. By removing the actual runway of the Airfield and inserting two “leafs” the entire set changed and made for the perfect space to host a Cobra Rally.

The Stage was simply a large hardcover book with a Cobra T-Shirt stretched tightly around it. The pictures seen here were taken before the entire set was completed. I had this horrible fear that the entire thing would come down like dominos at any second, I wanted proof that it had once existed, had that happened. These shots show about 528 troops, the final shots (like on this websites front page) show the full 600.

I purposely left out a large amount of figures because they clashed with the theme of this set. (Like Artic Forces, Battle Android Troops, a few sub-teams and Non-Troop built figures). The photo session stopped when the entire left rank fell down. (I’m not kidding) Building a rally like this is a great way to showcase a collection and I think everyone should do it at least once.
