	Each member of the Crimson Guard undergoes extremely painful plastic surgery to alter their appearance and erase their past. Any member can be removed from their undercover operation to be placed in the field where their specialties are needed. If they should fall in battle another Siege (CG “Crimson Guard”) can take their place in their homes and at their jobs. Most Crimson Guards are set up with single mother families, loyal to Cobra, in order to create the illusion of the perfect home. The recruited list of congressmen, senators, and high-ranking military officials goes on and on but not all Crimson Guard use their assumed identities to infiltrate government and politics. Many assume secret identities that allow them to conduct research and experiments in their fields of specialization, sometimes the best place to hide something is in plain sight. Enter Fred VII

Fred VII was a genius when it came to mechanical engineering, specializing in the field of robotics. His cover, in Denver, was as an automobile mechanic running his own garage but behind closed doors one might find a state of the art robotics laboratory where Fred spent his time developing new technologies for Cobra, one of which, was a suit of battle armor designed specifically for Cobra Commander himself. Although most other information about Fred VII has been classified by the Commander, himself, it is rumored that Fred betrayed Cobra Commander and attempted to assume his identity. It is even speculated that Fred VII may have impersonated Cobra Commander for some time but through his lack of leadership abilities landed Cobra in a civil war.
