Night Raven Pilot:
Most of the best combat pilots around the world don’t belong to any government air force. Why work for a low wage and the same rations as a grunt when they can join mercenary armies around the world? It’s no secret to countries such as the United States that the majority or their retiring pilots leave domestic grounds immediately to go to the highest bidder. One such high bidder is Cobra. The Cobra Aero-Viper divisions are easily paid twice if not three times that of a US Air force pilot.
The Strato-Vipers are the best of Cobra’s Aero-Vipers. After logging over 1500 hours of flight time, combat experience and a fixed-wing rating up to four engines, an Aero-Viper may be considered for entry to the Strato-Viper Corps. Once accepted the applicant must undergo numerous surgical procedures to make them more resistant to hypoxia, hyperventilation and other decompression sicknesses that can affect a pilot above 63,000 feet.
Strato-Vipers are only used for high priority missions. Flying high altitude recon or stealth bombing missions. The time and training that goes into a Strato-Viper is excessive, making them one of Cobra’s most valuable assets, and most useful operatives.
